Google Earth--Voyager. Explore at least three of the links--click on the link that says Nature. There are some great things there. Try to travel virtually through much of the world. In the last 15 minutes of class, choose one image and spend uninterrupted time drawing that image. Turn it in at the end of class.

Two Point Perspective Fantasy Cityscape
Create your own fantasy city scape. Use a visual reference or your imagination. Set your cityscape anywhere and any time. Since we all have Spring fever, maybe you should set your drawing where you would like to be right now.. Your drawing must have two vanishing points, a horizon line, a background and a foreground. Check out the samples below.
In Art 1 we will be studying the elements of art--line, shape, texture, color, value, form and space--in the Fall and then looking at the principles of design--emphasis, unity, movement, rhythm, balance pattern and variety-- in the Spring. We will explore drawing, painting, and mixed media work, through experimentation, note-taking, digital assignments, and critiques.
Class Wish list
If you can donate any of the following that would be fantastic!! These are suggestions, and not required for the class; however, our budget is small for the program we are running.
Magazines (school appropriate please!)
Plastic yogurt containers
Also, please note...
I would like to go on a few field trips this year so we will be raising money to help pay for the cost. We will also need parent drivers.
